RUSH: Jack, Portland, Connecticut, nice to have you, sir. You're up first today.
CALLER: Rush, dittos from a long-time listener from the deep blue state of Connecticut.
RUSH: Thank you, sir.
CALLER: In the Washington Post, there's an article about the fact that Nancy Pelosi has threatened to remove members of her party from positions of various committees because they sided with the Republicans. When are Frist and Hastert going to start maybe doing the same thing with some of our wayward Republicans?

RUSH: I don't think it will ever happen. I can't see it happening. That's not who we are.

Polling for a New Generation

By Josh Wilkening -- North Statesman Staff Writer

For candidates, political operatives and the politically interested, there are few tools more heeded and valuable than the political poll. What is a poll? It’s the result of random (at least supposedly) survey of voters in a given area designed to measure support for a position or candidate at specific point and time. Over time, polls conducted in the same way are valuable for discerning movement toward or away from the specified candidate or position.

In recent years, certain types of polls have fallen into disrepute for various reasons. For those disenchanted with polls as reported by the media, there is a growing phenomenon that might well be a better predictor of electoral success: the political futures market.

Washington DC Politics

by Bob Nesbit

Gary Benoit, editor for The New American bi-weekly news magazine, recently stated, "The American people did not vote the rascals out of office on election day so much as they shifted power to another group of rascals. That's happened in the past, such as during the Republican Revolution of 1994 and it will continue to happen--until the American people insist that their elected officials abide by the Constitution, regardless of party label."

Nancy Pelosi, new Democratic Speaker of the House of Representatives, is telling us how her party is going to focus on ethics and clean things up in Washington . If you believe that I have some prime real estate I'll sell you down in the Florida Everglades.

Legislative items the Democratic Congress will be pushing include re-instating the military draft, raising the minimum wage, universal national healthcare, President Bush's guest worker (read: amnesty) program for illegal aliens, same-sex marriage, expanded abortion rights, mostly unconstitutional and ungodly legislation.
