As the Veepstakes for both major parties goes into its final round, these are my predictions for whatever they're worth:
Obama/Bayh
McCain/Romney
Obama will pick Senator Bayh because he's viewed as a moderate, was a Clinton supporter, and used to be a governor. He has foreign policy credentials having served on the Senate Armed Services Committee and Select Intelligence Subcommittee. Bayh also attended the 1999 Bilderberg Group meeting and is a Council on Foreign Relations member. Perhaps most importantly, he's from a big political family (his father was also a U.S. Senator).
Romney will be McCain's choice because he is viewed as being strong on economic issues. He's considered to be more conservative than McCain and was supported by many conservatives during the primary season. He was a governor. Romney could possibly deliver Michigan (17 electoral votes). I couldn't find evidence he's a Bilderberger or CFR member. But for establishment credentials Mitt Romney is on the board of directors of the Bush family's Points of Light Foundation. Importantly, once again, Romney is from a big political family (his father was governor of Michigan). Oh, and, yeah, he's got deep pockets.
