Politics in Minnesota - post primary party! Wednesday, September 10

Now may be the dog days of August, when most people are focusing on the lake and what to put on the grill. They are not thinking about politics. Not you. As a professional working in Minnesota public affairs, I bet you've been focusing on the election for months.

Politics in Minnesota, along with our sister publication, the Saint Paul Legal Ledger Capitol Report, are here to help you with your coverage of the 2008 Minnesota House races.

We're having a terrific program featuring House Speaker Margaret Kelliher (DFL-Minneapolis) and House Minority Leader Marty Seifert (R-Marshall). Both leaders will highlight the hottest house races and spar--partisanly but good naturedly, of course--about their candidates. We'll also be handing out election guides that you will find indispensable in your election coverage during the entire election season.

Our event will not only be informative, it promises to be a raucously-good time. We'll start the program at the Saint Paul Hotel on Wednesday, September 10, at 3:00 p.m. Then we'll adjourn for hors d'oeuvres and cash bar about 5:00 p.m.

We've invited legislators, legislative candidates and media to join us. Not only will we have a great time, but you'll also pick up hot new political intelligence.

I look forward to seeing you in September, as do all of our Dolan Media publications in Minnesota: Saint Paul Legal Ledger Capitol Report (Editor Bill Clements), Finance & Commerce (Editor Scott Fagerstrom), Minnesota Lawyer (Editor Mark Cohen), and Publisher Steve Jahn.
